Future Diary Yuno vs Yuno 3-D paper diorama

While thinking of new Future Diary designs for Taiyou Con, I was having a hard time deciding which outfit of Yuno's outfit was more iconic, her school girl outfit at the beginning of the series or her black dress at the end.  So I decided, why not have both!

This 8x8 3-D paper diorama is one of my most ambitious pieces yet.  It features Yuno fighting herself complete with a blood splattered background.  I had to find a way to intertwine their legs and arms so they would not be on the same level while maintaining that each detail is still visible.  Stop by my booth at Taiyou Con, table 38, to check it out!

Hatsune Miku 8x8 3-D paper diorama

At Taiyou Con I will be selling this mini 8x8 version of the Hatsune Miku design that I used for my convention poster.  The original design was made for an 8x10 frame and I didn't think that shrinking the character down by 3 inches would make the details super fine, but I think I pulled it off.  I also included two pictures I took while making her to show how tiny her fingers are!

Lucy from Elfen Lied 3-D paper diorama

This piece features Lucy from Elfen Lied taking off her metal helmet in front of a blood splattered background.  These pieces involving blood splatters always make me nervous because I always run the risk of ruining the background with a random throw of paint.  And yes, I actually do throw the paint on the background to give it a more random and violent look.  It also ensures that no two pieces will ever be the same!

Goku 3-D paper diorama

This 6x8 paper diorama features Goku from Dragon Ball Z performing his kamehameha wave.  The energy blast actually goes off to the edge of the frame.  I used Ryu from Street Fighter II as a reference for his pose so it's two nerdy subjects in one piece!

Spirited Away No Face 3-D paper diorama

This 6x8 3-D paper diorama features the "No Face" mask from Spirited Away, my favorite Studio Ghibli film!

Anime silhouettes and logos

In preparation for Taiyou con I just finished this set of anime logos and silhouettes.  The Kanji piece spells out "Unpopular Girl" from Watamote, The girl looking up is Haruko from FLCL, The skull is the death logo from Soul Eater, and the Nerv logo is from Neon Genesis Evangelion.

Dolphin silhouette

This 8x10 silhouette featuring four dolphins swimming in a cove was created as a Christmas gift for a family member.

Storm Trooper 3-D paper diorama

This recent 3-D commission features a Storm Trooper helmet in front of crossed light sabers.  I used glossy white paper to give the helmet a shiny gleam.

Haruko from FLCL 3-D paper silhouette

In preparation for Taiyou Con, which is only in 1 week, I made this 3-D 6x8 piece featuring the silhouette of Haruko Haruhara riding her Vespa from my favorite anime, FLCL.

Watamote 3-D paper diorama

I just finished this 8x8 3-D paper diorama featuring Tomoko Kuroki from the anime "Watamote." The kanji in the background says, "Unpopular Girl." If you have ever felt alienated or experience any form of social anxiety, you should watch "Watamote" or read the original Manga entitled, "No Matter How I Look at it, It's You Guys' Fault I'm Not Popular."

Orca silhouette

I can finally post this Orca Whale silhouette!  I finished this 8x10 silhouette for my niece's birthday  a few months ago and now it hangs in her room next to her Wyland killer whale prints.
